Hi All,
I have two PV900 I would like to swap, ones screen is dead/dying.
from Ser-F Rev C(dying screen) >to> Ser-D Rev S
obviously the PVA cant be directly swapped as its not the same rev/ser
i tried just to make sure and it said incompatible pva file.
i do not have panelbuilder32 at the moment and using the winfp to get the files in and out
I assume i can open the pva in PB32 and re-set the versions, then transfer to the older working screen?
but before i spend the $ on it...
Is there a way to change these without buying the panelbuilder32 software?

thanks all.

Yes, those steps seem correct, although it is critical that the base part numbers are the same.

I also believe that the FRN (Firmware Revision Number) is more of a concern for the application file than the hardware series and revision.

Find out the FRN of the old and new hardware.

You might be able to zip and attach the pva file here in a p.m. or added to this thread and ask one of the forum members to edit it and send it back to you.

You must zip it to allow it as an attachment due to forum restrictions (create a new compressed folder, then paste it in that folder).

Welcome to PLCTalk!

Can i even run PanelBuilder32 on newer computers i think i will need to find a 32 bit vista right?

the pva was taken from FRN 3.1 and going to FRN 2.

ive attached the file as suggested above.

thanks for any help :)

Here, try this one.

Edit:

I should clarify, I am not OP, I converted the file to use FRN 2 though.

I have ran Panelbuilder32 on Windows 7 32 and 64 bit without issues. However, Panelbuilder32 does not work with newer versions of RSLinx, so you may have issues uploading/downloading files.

I was able to open it and validated the application... there were a few Warnings
- [Screen 4] Validating . . .
