Panelview training recomendaton

My original plan was just to buy the software an figure it out, but after almost an hour of dinking around AB's site I'm still not even sure what edition to buy. Plus i have a training budget from my employer i might as well use.

Are you looking for training on PanelView Plus or PanelView 5000 series?

From my experience, Rockwell distributors typically have a specialist on staff that is capable of doing this type of training, I'd reach out to them. They should be able to set something up. They can often loan our hardware too.

Panel view plus, admittedly i don't know the difference.

Talked to a sales rep this morning, he supposed to get me quote for FactoryTalk View Machine edition today. He said he'd also check into training.

Thanks.

Just to help with the software packages:

To program Panelview Plus, Panelview Plus 6, and Panelview Plus 7, you will need FactoryTalk View Machine Edition (ME) Studio.

FactoryTalk View ME Station is for running a ME application on a PC. It basically allows you to turn a PC and a touchscreen monitor into a Panelview+.

Factorytalk View Site Edition (SE) is for SCADA type systems and includes more PC based options than ME. A SE license is much more expensive but includes ME studio licensing, so you don't have to purchase both separately.

Panelview5000 are programmed with Studio 5000 View Designer, which is part of the Studio 5000 software package.

Panelview800 are programmed with the free Connected Components Workbench software. They only support Micro800, Micrologix, SLC, and only SOME of the CompactLogix family processors. They do not support any Controllogix processors.

I believe this sums up most of the current AB options.

Curious, where about in the PNW? PM is fine if you don't want to say.
