Hello,

I have been asked to change controller from 1768-L45 to 1769-L36ERS, as 1768-L45 is getting absolute.

I have attached IO configuration with 1768-L45. When i changed controller to 1769-L36ERS, i got 430 errors with changed IO configuration. I have attached both IO configurations. Could you please look into them, and guide me, where shall i add content of "[2] 1768-ENBT/A ETH_ISD01" tree..?

Even if not quite aware of the experienced errors (you attached only I/O 'trees' with inhibited connections) the issue is probably related to the two 1768-ENBT EtherNet/IP bridges; 5730 CompactLogix controllers such as the 1769-L36ERM(S?) replacement do not support 1768 Modules such as the 1768-ENBT communications bridge.

This is a pretty serious issue since the old 1768-L45 system has two different subnets of EtherNet/IP I/O and /or communications links.

You could either re-IP Address all the devices on one of the subnets to the same range as the other one while connecting them to the single Ethernet port of the L36ERM, or, and this would be my choice, instead of the 5730 L36ERM controller I'd go with one of the Dual Ethernet Port 5830 CompactLogix controllers, most likely the 5069-L350ERM or 5069-L380ERM. The 5830 CompactLogix controllers have provisions of communicating and/or control I/O on two different subnets.

The other option is to set everything up as a private network and then use a NAT configuration to provide access to the public network. There are several devices capable of providing this function, such as the 9300-ENA.
