Hi guys,

once more I need your help: Siemens Part Number 6GK1571-0BA00-0AA0, (see the attached image) is this the correct part for uploading/downloading PLC programs? Never been involved with Siemens gear untill recently, to me this looks to much for a programming lead. Or is some sort of converter required to communicate with a S7 controller? Can this be used for S7-200 as well?

Thanks.

PC Adapter

Hi Logix,

Yes this is the PC-Adapter that used to access S7 CPU's.
It can interface to S7-200(PPI Protocol), S7-300 & S7-400(MPI & DP Protocols).
It can be used to Upload/Download the program to/from these CPU's

Regards
Hagos

Thank you very much, Hagos.:site::site::site:

Just for your information, the most recent Siemens S7 PLCs (*) usually have an ethernet port, which you can use for programming.
The PC Adapter for MPI or DP is mostly used with older S7 PLCs.

*: S7-300 "PN" CPUs or S7-300 with CP343-1 module.
S7-400 "PN" CPUs or S7-400 with CP443-1 module.
IM 151-8 CPU.
IM 154-8 CPU.
All S7-1200 CPUs.
All S7-1500 CPUs.

Thanks Jesper,

I just went to check it out: unfortunately only older PLC versions without ethernet port on site. This would have been as easy option.

Thanks,

Stef.
