Mitsi fx3u plc to mt6071ip hmi

Can some one please tell me how to connect the two items above.

So far i have random data in my (d) regs on the hmi. And its all the same number (1248)

i have rs232. And have tryed so many differnet ways but still no go!

And also when pin 5 (gnd)is connected i get no plc response on hmi.

Do i need to set d8120? Or rs instruction

THE RS232 CABLE I MADE WAS A CROSS OVER......NEEDED TO BE A STRAIGHT THROUGH
