RsLinx OPC server requires RSLinx to run as a SERVICE or APPLICATION ?

Hi,

I am using RSLinx Classic V 2.59 running on Windows XP Professional SP2.

I am using OPC Test client to connect to RSLInx OPC Server but :-

1- When I run RSLinx as a SERVICE, i am not able to connect the OPC server.

2- When I run RSLinx as an APPLICATION, I am able to connect to the OPC server.

Please guide on how RSLinx is to be ran, SERVICE or APPLICATION ??
