wireless comms to PLC with DLink pocket router/ access point

I am trying to use a similar setup with a Hootoo TripMate Titan that i received. For the life of me, I am unable to get it to work.

My PLC is IP 192.168.100.2; The router is setup to give out DHCP addresses between 192.168.100.5-192.168.100.10. I changed the default IP on the router to be 192.168.100.1. When my PC connects wirelessly to the router I get the IP 192.168.100.5. With all of this setup, I am unable to ping the PLC at all.

Any help?

So you can ping the router but not the PLC? What's the ping result?

If there's a router status page, see if the PLC show up as a client. Also try to change the PLC outside the DHCP zone, say to 192.168.100.20

Try setting the PLC address above the DHCP range, e.g. 192.168.1.20 - it might help.

The answer may be quite simple: some devices are configured to not respond to ICMP ping packets.
