silly question! remote connection with PLC ( Allen-Bradley)

Hello everyone,
this might be a stupid question but I will still ask lol

I just start working at a new place and all the PLC programmer get online without ethernet cable.

How is it possible?

Please explain me or send me a link to read an article on it. Do we need any external or special hardware or Ethernet module to do that?

I use a simple wireless router. Set it up so that it matches the IP subnet of the PLC.

and you connect that wireless router with an ethernet cable to ethernet module of PLC. Correct?
