Hello everybody, have a question, is anybody try to use serial port to control Ultra 3000 Drive, I have project where customer want to upgrade old drive to Ultra 3000, at this moment old drive is controlled by S7-300 plc via CP 340-RS422/485 Card, using RS485 protocol. Did anybody use serial communication to control Ultra 3000 drive? Can't find any information about serial read/write.

Faced with a similar situation I used a Red Lion G3 HMI as a bridge between the PLC and the drive. The HMI can communicate with both the Ultra3000 drive and the S7-300 PLC. That should be easier to set up than trying to have the PLC communicate directly with the drive.

Have no experience with Red Lion G3, just downloaded Crimson 2.0 software, and tried to configure data mapping, can you please point me in right direction? how you transfer data?

One more question, if I will use compact logix 1769-L35E + 1769-SDN, can I access Ultra3000 data like controller tags? I already tried to create application in RSL5000, and looks like I can't do nothing offline
