OK, for fun (only), I've had a recent curiosity as to any fieldbus network MAX-OUTs that people on here might have actually made work.

Replies should be:
NETWORK: (example: Data Highway Plus)
Engineering Limit (number of assigned nodes/stations): (example: 64)
Design Limit (allowing for 0-node, or recommended reserve nodes) : (example 62)
Actually implemented and working in a real world environment: ( <???> )

Lets see what comes in....no lying (!)

This is a REAL application, in a REAL place.

NETWORK: Ethernet/IP
Engineering Limit: none
Design Limit : 300 connections - 1756-L85 processor
Actually implemented and working in a real world environment:
224 PowerFlex 525 VFD
8 third-party fieldbus gateways
8 third-party fieldbus (different from above) gateways
8 managed switches in Ethernet/IP enabled.

I didnt answer before since our projects are not that big.
These are the "biggest" I have experienced:

NETWORK: Profibus DP
Engineering Limit: 32 stations per segment. 126 stations per network.
Design Limit : 126 stations.
Actually implemented and working in a real world environment:
10 ET200 stations + 3 MM4 VFDs + 1 Operator panel

NETWORK: Profinet
Engineering Limit: 256 stations per network. (edit: actually I am not sure if that is just the limitation of the CPU, not the theroretical maximum)
Design Limit : 256 stations.
Actually implemented and working in a real world environment:
16 ET200SP stations + 5 G120 VFDs + 4 operator panels (in the network but not as Profinet devices)
