hello can anyone share with me the diagram of working cable to make the comunication beetwen plc micrologix 1400 and zebra printer trough rs232 or db9 ? thank you in advance

Not sure about the serial but you may want to look at a Ethernet printer, what is the model of the printer you have ?

Have you seen the manual? this is a 420t but maybe the same as your, see page 25

https://www.zebra.com/content/dam/zebra/manuals/en-us/printer/gc420t-ug-en.pdf

thank you and im reading but ist not clear, because im using this same configuration from my plc coms" settings are: 9600 baud, 8 bit word length, NO parity, 1 stop bit"đź“š

EPL Y Command
Use the serial port setup (Y) command to change the communications settings on the printer.
1. With the host computer set at the same communications settings as the printer, send the
Y command to change the printer to the desired settings. Note: the Y command does not
support setting the data flow control, use the Xon/Xoff setting.
2. Change the host computer settings to match the new printer settings

You may also want to contact this YouTube person

i have the right cable, and the factory prinitng between zebra and plc and dont print. im trying direct from the pc and it works i cant undertand why my micrologix 1400 cant send the data

I would recommend asking the person in the YouTube for a copy of their logic they used in the PLC... if your PC writes then your logic is wrong or the settings on the comport is wrong

This is a old one that I have

http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/showthread.php?t=29924

There are some other YouTube that may help

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ASCII+RSLogix+500

i already test my logic conected to another zebra s4m and it works but i dont understand why with zebra gc420p

the settings are as printer :9600,8,1,none

i will make a cross over cable thank you

I remember that I needed a cross cable between a Zebra printer and a Siemens ET200 RS232 module, so it's maybe the case there. You need a cross cable between two devices if they are both DCE or both DTE.

I get the parameters but normally for the serial link you can also have more parameters like flow control like RTS/CTS or XON/XOFF .
