Hi all,

I'm using Archestra SMC to manage tags in Wonderware Historian. I have an existing production line storing historical data, with maybe about a thousand tags. We recently expanded, adding a second identical production line.

I want to take all the public group folders for line 1 and move them to a folder called "line 1", then I want to make an identical folder called "line 2" containing all the same stuff from line 1, but with a different target PLC.

What's the best way to do it? Am I going to have to sit at my computer and manually right-click>add-tag for every single one of these data points?

I'm primarily looking for answers that describe how to do this in Wonderware. But answers such as, "switch to ignition," are welcome as long as they include information about how to migrate my historical data to the new system.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks! Good advise, and I'll implement it.

So here's what I've found out looking around:

In the historian trend client, if I'm logged in as a user with elevated privileges, I can organize all the public group folders by dragging and dropping them.

I can bulk-add tags using the Database Configuration Export and Import tool.

Now, I still don't fully understand all the rules for safe modification of the txt file I get from that tool. Any advise is welcome!

Thanks!
