Hi all,
I've been upgrading some machines recently which involves installing a 10" NB HMI, HUB and a CP1L-E to avail of the built-in ethernet.
So basically on the first machine, I replaced the old CP1L with a new CP1L-E and installed the HMI, made all of my changes and it's running great.
Yesterday I started on the second machine and this one already has a CP1L-E so no need to install a new PLC. I installed the HMI and hub and made all of my changes. Half way through today, I switched off the machine to test some of the HMI screens on start up but the PLC never fully 'booted up' for want of a better term.
The 'Power' light is illuminated but the 'RUN' light never comes on to indicate that the program is executing. None of the input lights are on (Despite 24VDC at some of the inputs.)
If i power cycle the machine a few times it eventually comes on and runs without issue until the machine power cycles.
None of the outputs are on at start-up so nothing is pulling it down and causing a fault. The only difference in hardware as far as the PLC is concerned is that I have installed a CP1W-ADB21 which is working perfectly when the PLC comes on. No changes have been made to Input or output wiring.
When I check the error log when the PLC does power on, there are no new errors.
I loaded back in the original program just to eliminate my programming as an issue but it did the same thing occasionally on start up.
It's as if it is failing a self check on start up or something but I would've thought it would flag something in the error log?
Any ideas?
