I just got back from shopping. The towels and toilet paper shelves were close to empty. You would have thought we were living in a socialist country where goods aren't available.

Local Meijer's tonight:
No hand soap or sanitizer at all
Bottled water aisle was almost empty (plenty of alcohol in the next aisle)
No canned dog food, but plenty of dry.My dog prefers canned, weights 130 pounds and can outrun me, so I'm in trouble here
I just got back from Meijer in Grand Haven. It was pretty much cleaned out, but stocking is under way for tomorrow.
I just went there to get a few things that were still on sale from this week. I just checked online 1st to see if they had them.
I went to another store in Spring Lake earlier and they were pretty much cleaned out of a lot of items. The meat case was pretty much empty.
My buddy in Indiana went to the store at 3:00am because he didn't want to be around many people. Not a roll of TP in the place. Even all the napkins were gone.
This TP thing is just panic buying.
I went to the store for the Corned Beef and Orange Juice sales, and I got what I wanted. Yay!!

I missed the joke myself.
Stores were packed today. People pulling 2-3 shopping carts...
I guess we have a clue where vacation money is being spent...
For those who are concerned and believe this virus is going to spread in a way that threatens them I suggest you take necessary preparations and if buying toilet paper is important to you then do it (I almost never use them).
When things get bad you will have to depend on yourselves and be sure emergency services , aside from being for *emergency*, are completely dysfunctional and incompetent; not as individuals but as institutions.
Best to work as groups/communities and organize yourselves for the kind of scenarios you envision.
