Controller not showing up in RSlogix 5000

I am trying to make a new project in RSLogix 5000 but the controller isn't showing up when I try to make a new project.

I am using RSLogix 5000 version 20.05.00 and the controller is the Compact GuardLogix 5380

I haven't used that PLC but I think you may have to update your software. The Rockwell web site talks about using Studio5000.

Is there a version higher than 20.05.00? I bought a software upgrade recently and updated it at the beginning of the week.

If you mean a tech contract and its current, you should be able to download any version from the RA website.

I have the latest version that is avaible on the website installed

That link relates to RSlogix 5000 version 20. For Guardlogix 5380, you need Studio 5000 version 31. RSLogix was renamed Studio for versions 21 and higher.

FYI, the different versions RSlogix and Studio can and will be installed at the same time. Its known that if older versions are installed after newer versions, some users have had trouble. As an example, v21 was installed after v28. I've not had any issues but others have reported it.

Could you provide a link from where I can download the software? I tried looking for it in the `Download and Compatibility` page but I can't find it.

I found it in the downloads list, added it to my download cart. Then I entered my product key but now the only thing that is available for me to download is "Studio 5000 Multi-Language Pak ESD S/W".
