How to update S7-315 2 DP Firmware via MMC Card

Hi,

I'm new to Siemens and am trying to upgrade the firmware on a S7-315-2 DP CPU from version 2.0.8 to 2.6.11.

Appreantly my only option to convert the card into a firmware update card. I have the 4mb card and that's what I am trying to do however I only have a standard card reader and it wont recognize the card in TIA portal 13.

How can I preform this FW update??

If I need a specific Siemens card reader can someone please prepare an image file I can write to the card with this firmware update file on it. I have the clean image to restore the card if necessary.

The bottom line is you need a Siemens PG or a Siemens USB Prommer.

Yeah thats what i thought. Is anyone with that tool able to quickly create a card with the firmware update on it then image ot with winhex or hdd raw copy and ill write the image to my card and give that a go.

I assume that will work?
