FactoryTalkView Comm Setup

I am using FactoryTalkView with a PanelViewPlus1000 HMI and am trying to make a few additions to a screen. When I try to go on line with the HMI ... I get an error of the source location not being correct. I have tried to connect directly to the HMI as well through Ethernet. I can see the HMI online ... just cant communicate to upload or download.
Does anyone have a link that will explain how to set up the Communication? I'm missing something, but not sure what. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
