TIA Portal V13 user data type

Hello Guys,

I'm using Wincc V13 in the TIA portal environment. With the configuration, s7-1500 PLC and TP1200 HMI. In the PLC I have an DB filled with UDT's.

I've tried to add a tag to the HMI, which is an UDT in the PLC. I want to connect the tag to a faceplate. But when I am adding the tag, I have the following failure:



I have read something about WinCC RT Professional, does somebody have the solution, or got this to work?

You need to recreate the UDT as an HMI structure. Just like you created the Faceplate in the library, you also need to create the structure there. if you make it matching the PLC UDT, then it should all work.

I would hope they can figure out how to unify things in a future release, but you need to create the same structure in both sections for now.

I'm not sure if there are additional requirements on using optimized vs standard DB's linked with structures in the HMI. I haven't used them much.
