Remote IO Recommendations

Hi All,

I'm looking for a low-cost remote io system that will act as a Profibus-DP slave and be able to read type-K thermocouples. So far I've gathered that the Terminator IO system from automationdirect.com is my best option. Can anyone comment on the reliability of this system or recommend another product that would suit this application?

B&R's X20 and X67 IO both have many bus controller options, including Profibus-DP slave. The array of available types of X20 is pretty large, probably the most varied IO selection in industry.

Thanks for the replies! I will probably stick with the Terminator IO system due to cost and their support.

search for WAGO, they have a modular system with dedicated thermocouple modules and profibus (head station.

I've used Beckhoff bus terminals before. Very similar to Wago, cost is pretty good and the support available is excellent.

I've used the WAGO 750 series bus couplers and modules with no complaints.
