That's one huge task. In movies, that's something that's always missing, the smells. I actually heard of this in a podcast:

If anyone is being physically active in a desert I can guess what he'll smell like and and have no need or desire to experience it first-hand. And any perfume strong enough to hide that will be overpowering.
