connecting a micrologix 1200 to a panelview 1000 - PLCS.net

I would like to know if it is possible to connect a Panelview 1000 (cat 2711-T10C8) that has DH+ to a micrologix 1200 with or without a AIC + (cat 1761-NET-AIC) Panel builder 32 software.

It's technically possible to put a 1770-KF2 or equivalent DH+ to DF1 converter between a DH+ equipped PanelView Standard terminal and a MicroLogix 1200 controller, but it's not economically feasible.

The 1761-NET-AIC is an electrical RS-232 to RS-485 converter. It cannot connect to a DH+ network, which uses a proprietary differential signaling method.

You probably noticed an RS-232 port on the PanelView terminal. That's for serial printing or upload/download only; it cannot be used for runtime communications.
