Using Siemens Servo drive with Digital IO?

I'm pretty sure this is possible, but just wanted to make sure it is and if there are any examples available?

We are looking to replace a broken servo drive that is obsolete. We are on the hunt for a Siemens equivalent at the moment, as that is our factory standard.

The old servo drive is communicating to an old Omron PLC via digital IO, so we are looking to use something like an S110 /S120 / CU305 drive. I know the CU305 can be used as a PLC too, and they have digital IO for safe torque off, hard limits, etc. But can these inputs also be used to command the drive to move to say position 1, 2 and 3?

Also, we will need feed back signals for positions, alarms, drive ready, etc.

Which drive would you recommend and do you know of any similar siemens examples using Scout?

A couple of questions:

1) does M0=1. 3Nm (100K) on the siemens motor = the 1.9Nm continuous - so the siemens one is higher rated? Looking at the data sheet the peak isn't as high on the Siemens one.

2) Is shaft height the same as shaft diameter?
