Hello,

anybody can guide me , how can i get data from Allen bradley Power Monitor, 1420-V1-ENT.

I am using Rslogix 5000 software and compact logix controller, using Ethernet/IP communication.

I am planning to use message control to get data from Power monitor.

So i configure Generic Ethernet Module as in attachment picture.

There, assembly instance input 101 is only for current and voltage reading.

I need to use assembly instance input 102 for power reading too.

But, Assembly instance input can key in only one time.

Please help, how to solve the issue ?

Thank all.

You need to send a message to the module for each set of parameters that you need. So the settings for 101 and 102 etc are in the message configuration,.

see the attached picture that I was given.(Att101.jpg)

Reading further into the situation, it looks as though you are configuring the PM500 as a module direct from your backplane?
Unfortunately that is not the case - I also tried this, and found it was not possible, so then the rack has (in my case) a 1756-ENBT to set up the network and then you set up the message instruction to talk over that network to the Pm500 (see second picture I have just added - pm500_msg.jpg)

Hi John,

i direct configure the module via Ethernet, not from backplane.

I looked into your attachment picture then i got idea and solved the problem.

Thank a lot.

Hi minaykha,

I found the manual a bit confusing in the first read and I called my Rockwell rep, who then got their specialist onto it, and he gave me pointers and some sample code so that I could interrogate the meter.

Hopefully you have managed to get the required information.

The meters have an EDS file, so do not need to be a Generic Ethernet module.
I ended up sending 3 messages to the PM500, as it shows in the previous attachments and the manual.
Create tag arrays for parameter group 101, 102 and 107, and send the messages to query the meter

Got you. Instance 107. Thanks!
