Is it possible to send information from a S7 300 plc to a 200 series plc thru ethernet. I have an add on machine that I would like to send a part number, and pass/fail information. I would like to have it entered into the datablock maybe in the V memory.

Thanks,

You will find configuring the ethernet communication from the S7-200 to the S7-300 far simplier than other way around.
MicroWin has an Ethernet wizard that guides you through the steps. Step7-300, without the manuals and a lot of patience, good luck.

Step 7 MicroWin for S7-200 was developed in US, whereas Step 7 for S7-300 was developed in Germany. American software is always more intiutive and user friendly.

I heered that. Got the t-shirt and a key chain.

Alrighty, I have the basic concept of how it works. My next question is, If I am using the S7-200 series PLC to "GET" information from the S7-300 series, how do I specifie that I want to pull it from a specific address (ex P#db200.dbx40.0) Or the other way around how would I "PUT" it into a specific VB from the 300 to the 200.

Thanks,
-Joel

The ethernet wizard in MicroWin steps you through the procedure. In S7-300 you need to configure a connection # that the MicroWin will use in the wizard.

While I'm setting up the connection in the S7200 it is asking me where it would like to pull the data from. This looks like it needs to be a type of VB (Ex: VB3) but the S7-300 uses DB's as DB501.dbx0.0 How do i get around this?

Thanks,
-Joel
