So I don't know much about hydraulics and how to read hydraulic schemes and symbols. Since I now how to make some PLC software for hydraulic control (I have a standard sw we use all the time) and I don't want to just copy/paste without actually understanding hydraulics at least a bit.

So where would you start? I need a tutorial or a book, googling over Internet doesn't give you rounded picture of hydraulics, just little pieces of puzzle you need to combine yourself into whole picture. That takes time.

For starters, is there some detailed symbol list and explanation on how valve represented by that symbol work?

Understand the symbols of the scheme is fine but first understand the basics of hydraulic installations is even better
