1734-aent connection problem

What version of RSLinx Classic are you running ?

It's possible that your version of the software never had the version of the applet that supports the tab that lets you set the -AENT/A chassis size.

Because you're running a computer that's running SoftLogix 5800 you should be careful with your upgrades and installations. This is one of the reasons I keep asking for revision numbers.

Or maybe your 1734-AENT is so very old that it doesn't support the features that all the others did, and you'll have to use RSLogix 5000 or the web browser to configure it.

At this point it might be best to uninstall your 1734-AENT and take it to an A-B distributor and have one of their specialists reconfigure it for you. I would have done that for any customer who walked in the door.

Are you possibly not doing a right click on the actual AENT in RSLinx?
Compare Ken’s picture and yours, Ken’s shows the AENT with IP address highlighted, yours shows the AB_ETHIP-1 driver highlighted.

Open your RsLinx Classics > can u see your aent > right click > device properties > set a stactic ip.

your IP is getting removed when poweroff.
