SIMATIC PDM & DR 21 CONTROLLER

Hallo.

I am new to this,I am Using a DR 21 controller with interface module RS232 FOR serial communications with rs 232 cable, I want to communicate with PC by SIMATIC PDM SOFTWARE.

does this controller support communication with RS232 DIRECTLY or I need hart modem ?
