Hi everybody! I'm starting to play with a S7-1200. It's been almost a decade since the last time I worked with a PLC, in school. I know all the theory about PLCs, and I'm searching a manual or book about that PLC. Of course, not the 1200 specifically, but about Siemens programming languages. Can you guys point me to a good book? I'm Italian, so everything either in English or Italian.
Thanks!

Thanks! But I was hoping for something that I can buy as a physical copy. Even a third party one is alright!

Books..none. The Hans Berger's books are highly over rated. I bought one and may have looked in it 2-3 times.

The links in the replies here are the best, that is manuals, guides and SCEs like the one i the link below but the most valuable information come from shared knowledge of members on this forum and others. Just start programming using all the available guides and examples (which are plenty) and when you get stuck just ask.

Siemens cooperates with education

Maybe you can go to Udemy and there are courses on s7-1200 which will cost you 9.9 USD, you also get a certificate.

hans berger book do not have examples i did not find them useful, there are better books for Allen bradley PLC but not for siemens
you can also buy an hmi to make it more interesting and a Logo! and communicate with each other and so on .

I realize this is an old thread brought up by a possible spammer.

The resources on youtube have increased considerably, specifically for beginners.

This guy has some good beginner stuff, the sound quality is not good but his ignition videos for a startup is far better than anything the morons are induction automation put out.
He's got Siemens stuff too

This guys videos are long but that means detailed and I've watched quite a few of his OPC-UA ones:

This guy started WinCC Unified tutorial and when he realized there's interest in his videos he started to put audio to them and organize them a bit:

Again very basic stuff for beginners, subscribing to his channel though gets annoying as he post a lot of gaming stuff:

There are quite a few more that have recent videos.
