Cimplicity to Siemens S7 PLC communication

Hi,

I need to connect Cimplicity HMI to a S7 siements PLC.

I read a couple of threads here already. My questions are basically
1- Can I use a CImplicity driver to talk to the S7 Siemens PLC
2- If not what OPC server would you recommend as far as reliability/ price goes?

We have started using TOP server from software toolbox. This may be an option. Comments?
I know Siemens Softnet could be another. Recommended?


We are using Cimplicity 6.1 at this time.
The siemens PLC is on ethernet.
- CPU 412-2 V1.1
- CP 443-1 V2.6 for ethernet comm.

use opc for this. download this software (OPC Server for Siemens S7), it will detect your Siemens PLCs, and then all you have to do is connect your Cimplicity to the opc server and you will have all your PLC data in your HMI:
