Good Morning ,

I am working on upgrading two machines. I would like to put a tachometer on a outgoing conveyor. These machines are remote and moved around alot. I have a small main panel that is stationary with the PLC and Frequency Drives in it. I am using Flex I/O on the portable machines , and just using a plug for the motor connections to the drives , and another plug for ethernet. I do have a Flex I/O Analog Module that I can use for a 4-20 ma tachometer output . I could use an Ethernet I/P Tachometer , if it is easy to configure in a CompactLogix PLC .

Do you folks know of any Tachometers that have a 4-20 ma output or Ethernet ? I see that Allen Bradley has some. What would you recommend ?

Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks for the suggestion . I love the idea. I need to see the actual speed of the belt. There are alot of things that influence the belt , a rotating mold , air pressure on the belt , etc. that causes the belt to possibly slip . That is why I would like to see the actual speed of the belt.

Thanks,
