Hi All,

Has anyone of you dealt with the easy chart or any other graph or data trend viewing options? I want to filter the input data I want to see, and I have been able to filter the input data as well. however, the names (like the name of variable whose data is displayed) does not change, even though the data va;ue changes?

ANy help will be great.

I'm not really sure what you are asking...
The pen names for each tag are editable in the chart styles table.

Maybe you should check out Better Graphs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4MxvrPEfV4

What I mean is that I followed this tutorial https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC79/Indirect+Easy+Chart

The issue is that now I can manually input the tag names I want graph of, but the name of those tags (aka Pens) does not change. for example, if I input the tag name "ÄBC", it will plot its value, but the legend aka pen wont change =( it will stay as whatever it was thou it wont be representing the value of that tag/variable anymore)

I understand what you are doing,

If you are using indirection or "cell binding" on the "TAG_PATH", prehaps you could use indirection on the "NAME" as well.

Like this for example?

I dont understand this fully.. do you mean I can put the path in NAMES too?

In his example, the NAME column is populated with just the text from a component named "Label" text and the TAG_PATH column is populate with a tag path including that same text at the end of it.

We would need to see more info or screen shots from your system to be able to give you a specific answer to help you get the name field and the tag path to be dynamic and match up with your tag hierarchy and naming conventions.

This is what I mean.. see the pens? Their name never changes (Label 1..5 in this case), where as when I change the input value, the value on the graph does change.

There is another issue now. If I delete the labels/pens, I cannot add them even if I input the name in my input area.. whats the way around?

More info required. Cell binding is only useful for a static number of pens, if you want to hide a pen you could cell bind to that as well. For really dynamic pen sets its better to create a complete dataset.

generate your dataset thru scripting and stick it in the chart ds property. You have a few different datasets. pens, axes, subplots.
