PLC with barcode reader

halo everyone... i am newbie for the PLC
so, i meet a problem now

can anyone tell me how to connect the PLC with barcode reader so that waht the barcode reader read/sense can capture by the PLC.
I am using siemen PLC, waht connector i have to buy and do i need to write a program for the PLC?
