Hi All

I dont have the sofware, so asking a small question.

when installing FT SE Client,on PC, does it require sharing folders with the server for the location of the project file ?
or you just give it the IP number of server.

Many Thanks.

No shares are needed, the client is basically a customized browser. All you need to do is point it to the FactoryTalk directory hosting which refers to the proper application.

Hi & thanks for replying.

will this solution work well (fast enough) in WAN i.e. through switches and routers?
does the client uses caching to store the images?

It should work fine, as long as latency isn't horrible.
Yes, the client does cache displays, and can continuously updated cached displays if desired (configure on the display itself, "Display Settings | Cache After Displaying | Always Update". This can affect performance if memory is low.
