In a system where the main power supply is 120 VAC, how common is it to use a line filter in the control box? This machine is NOT in an industrial building or factory. But the PLC is powered by this supply....

We always use corcom filters to block voltage spikes.
Note, I have no connection to corcom other than buying their components.

We have one customer that requests 120V line filters for their control systems. Outside of that specific case we don't use them.
