Hello Everybody

I´m looking for information about, if is possible communication between Wonderware Intouch and AB SLC500-> DF1

I found this:

The Wonderware® ABDHPLUS DAServer, as part of the Rockwell_DASpak, is the next-generation server for the current Wonderware Allen-Bradley 1784-KT and SST 5136-SD I/O Servers. This DAServer is a Microsoft® Windows® application program designed to provide direct and indirect connectivity to the Allen-Bradley families of PLC-5 and SLC 500 controllers. The DAServer acts as a communications protocol server and allows other Windows application programs access to data in the Allen-Bradley PLC-5 and SLC 500 PLCs (also referred to as devices), which are connected to the Data Highway Plus Bridge Module (DH485, DH, or DF1). The DAServer does not require the Rockwell Software RSLinx™ OEM package. While the DAServer is primarily intended for use with Wonderware InTouch® (version 7.11 Patch 02 and later), it may be used by any Microsoft Windows program capable of acting as a DDE, FastDDE, SuiteLink™, or OPC client.

but I´m not sure.I´m student and new with Intouch.

Thanks advanced and very good job for all people of this comunity

Hello again.

If anyone if interested in this post.
Now, I know that this is possible, but with OPCLink in Intouch and RSLinx

Thanks

Hi, again.

I have been proving configuration with I/O server ABKF2, but I have some problem and I don´t know where is, because I can´t see my tags.
I put this screenshot if anyone can help me.

Thanks advanced

You do not need ABKF2 to Communicate to RSLinx--- It is its own I/O Server. You Set the Application Name to RSLinx in Wonderware and create a Topic Name in RSLINX and add the Topic name to Wonderware. That is currently how i have been cummunicating.

ABKF2 negates the need for RSlinx and will communicate directly to the PLC. Also if RSLinx is running at the same time you'll end up with all sorts of conflicts and nothing will happen. If you follow the setup instructions on page 2 of the document I posted above you should be all good.

The advantage of using ABKF2 is its free. (Well, it comes with all the other wonderware software anyway). If you're going to do DDE with RSLinx you need to fork out some extra cash for the OEM or professional version.
