S7-1200 to CLX Conversion

Hi Everyone,
Looked at a job today where they want to change over several S7-1200 PLC Panels to run off of one 1756-L82E Processor.


I was wondering if there was a device that I could install in place of the S7-1200 processors that would let me use the installed S7 I/O Modules as a Remote I/O on a Ethernet/IP Network?


This would make the change over a little easier and less expensive. Thanks for any info you can provide!!

The S7-1200 can act as a Profinet-IO device, maybe there's a bridge from Profinet to Ethernet/IP.
But you need to replace the program of the 1200 to enable this function.

This would be a gateway adapter device per your suggestion.

Program in the s7-1200 would basically be a map IO routine from hardware inputs to a tag that gets sent thru the gateway to another tag in the logix platform
