Hello,

Using a 1746-NI4 card for a 4-20mA signal.
My 4-20mA signal coming out of my unit is providing the power for the loop. Does this NI4 card also provide the power for the loop? I've blown 2 cards so far. Runs for a little while then goes out on me. I've hooked the 4-20mA signal to other hardware and works just fine but just seems to be blowing this card. The reciver that is providing the 4-20mA output can drive a load of 0-1150 ohms and the card is 250ohms industry standard I think.
Hoep someone has some ideas.

Thanks

We usually supply an external 24Vdc to the loop; I don’t think the input card can provide the power.
