New Here, Have this PLC stuff, but not sure where to start, or what it all is.

Ok I managed to salvage this from demo, I know its a PLC with a screen, but no idea what it is really.
The one grey cable goes to the lcd screen. The other was cut off, no idea what it is but it is labeled "MBPlus" the one to the screen is "Modbus".
Opposite the yello numbers are some LED's.

A search for modicon pc-a984-145, seems like its a PLC, but I have no idea how to program it or well anything about it. But a search of the quickpanel jr seems almost like the screen is the PLC and the other thing is well I dunno.
Can I program from the screen?
I have a 120VAC to 24VDC transformer for it.

I am wanting to basically set up a PLC for my fish tank, I know a PLC for my tank is overkill, basically a timer for the lights, and controls for the pumps and auto top off things like that.
I was going to just use a Idec Smart Relay, but because of work this fell into my lap. But thinking I should just sell this for the smart relay, seems its worth more then the smart relay.

But I need to start with knowing what this all really is.
I'm a commercial electrician, I have run control wire and mounted PLC stuff but never turned one on.

Looks like the QUICKPANEL jr. is only a HMI from which you wont be able to program the PLC. You'll probably need to have a software (modsoft if I'm correct) for programming the 984 PLC. HMI is just used to input data to PLC and aslo to display data from PLC. Hope that helps.

You'll need QuickDesigner or Proficy Machine Edition to program the QuickPanel Jr.

Seems almost like I find conflicting data about this stuff.

I'm just going to sell it I think and buy the Idec Smart relay, where would be a good place to sell?

Yup, once you figure in the software $, it's not worth it.

Where is the best place to sell it? Or better yet trade?
