So what’s way round? I am really really stuck.

In most PLC models if you take out the battery and remove power, the memory will be cleared including the password. Following that you can start over with a blank slate.
The only workaround would be to wipe it as Steve says above.
If you have a printed copy of the program, or maybe an archived copy without a password, you could create a new program copying it, otherwise you will have to write your own project.

That’s the trouble. Don’t have any back up programme. New project is not an option.
I have seen on YouTube someone showing how to crack password. Must be fake?
I just searched YouTube for it and the results I found all want you to download a Cracker program from an unknown source. If you have a not-networked, disposable PC to try it on I would say try it.
Just to see what would happen once I downloaded one password cracker on a laptop I was going to install a new solid state drive on anyway. My anti-virus popped up about 50 different virus's and spyware programs packed into the installation program.
