Hello Experts,

We have a Control logic chassis with an EN2T module for the local Panel View HMI module. Now the client asked for a redundant communication network(Use existing CPU) to the DCS system. How can we achieve it? What all are the modules required?

Our current hardware is as follows.
1756-A10 Backplane
Slot 0 1756 L71
Slot 1 1756 EN2T
Slot 2 1756-IB32/A
Slot 3 1756-IB16
Slot 4 1756-OB32
Slot 5 1756-OB16E
Slot 6 1756-IF8
Slot 7 1756-IF8
Slot 8 1756-OF4
Slot 9 DUMMY

EN2T for the local HMI via US5T HUB.

For making a redundant communication network to the DCS, what all hardware are required?

Our current configuration is attached. How to convert the same for a redundant communication line scheme.

Kindly guide.

are they still selling L71? I thought L81 with a ethernet port is more redundant? Then another hub duplicating L81 ethernet to duplicate hub.

I very strongly recommend that you get in contact with the Rockwell Automation office in Seoul to advise you on training, supplies, and architecture for your system.

You should read about media "redundancy" using both Device-Level Ring wiring and Parallel Redundancy Protocol.

The technical manual for various Ethernet modules that will support DLR and PRP is here in English:

In my opinion, you need to understand more about the DCS system and what type of communication protocols and redundancy methods it supports, before you can select the Rockwell modules to match.

Enduser selected the model, so we have no choice. It seems they want to make their systems alike for utilizing the spares.
So as per you L81 and an EN2T with an additional hub solves the issue.

Thank You for the recommendation. We will try to get in contact with the RS office.
Yes we have enquired about the same, awaiting reply from them.
