Is there a free version of Rockwell software for Allen Bradley PLC

There is free software for programming the Micrologix 1000 and 1100. Then there is the free Connected Components Workbench for Micro 800 and various other devices in that realm including VFD's and some of the A-B HMI's.


Someone may have links to the RSLogix for the Micrologix.

and making a cable is not too complex after a visit to your local ex-RadioShack (I had to use needlenose pliers to flatten the alignment detentes on the mini-DIN 8, but it worked first time):
