Hello,

I come here to get some help on my search for one or more problems on my machine.

I am totally beginner and I am currently discovering the system.

After doing a big cleaning in the machine, I finally made the lighter this week.

Everything seems to be good.. But the machine doesn't react to anything. I don't have a light that lights up, for example green, or red, etc.

I have a Panelview model 550 which displays 612. After doing research I was able to understand that it is a communication problem (maybe I am wrong).

This panelview 550 is connected with a cable that looks like internet that goes into an SLC 500. I have no idea what it is for.

After the SLC 500 I have a four cable that goes to an IMCS for information.

I was able to recover a PVA file from an sd card on the panelview 550.

And I prefer to say it again, I am really a beginner. đź“š

Hello,

>>>Welcome! Bienvenue!

>>>No power LED? Check upstream wiring, fuses, etc.

I have a Panelview model 550 which displays 612. After doing research I was able to understand that it is a communication problem (maybe I am wrong).

This panelview 550 is connected with a cable that looks like internet that goes into an SLC 500. I have no idea what it is for.

>>>It is probably not a standard ethernet cable, despite appearance. It is likely CBL-PM03 (I probably have that wrong, the laptop with all those cables is not next to me) but it is specific to Allen-Bradley communications for the SLC and Panelview.

After the SLC 500 I have a four cable that goes to an IMCS for information.

I was able to recover a PVA file from an sd card on the panelview 550.

>>>A .pva file is a PanelView Application file, which should contain the runtime for the screen. I don't think you'll be able to open this file in View Studio Machine Edition unfortunately.

And I prefer to say it again, I am really a beginner. đź“š

Correct, a 612 indicates that it is not seeing any devices on the communication network.

Specifically relevant is that it should be seeing the SLC -- check that the SLC has power, is in run mode and is not faulted.

This panelview 550 is connected with a cable that looks like internet that goes into an SLC 500. I have no idea what it is for.
This is the communication line between the Panelview and the SLC. If it has RJ-45 connectors on both ends, then it is likely cable 1747-C13 or an equivalent.

After the SLC 500 I have a four cable that goes to an IMCS for information.
The IMCS is a motion controller. If the Panelview communication cable plugs directly into the SLC rather than through an interface converter, then almost certainly nothing related to the IMCS is directly related to the current communication issue.

I was able to recover a PVA file from an sd card on the panelview 550.

If you want to open this you will need Panelbuilder32 software.

Since it looks like the Panelview is still operational and running, just unable to see the SLC, you shouldn't need it; it's good to have as a backup though.

tl;dr Things on the Panelview seem fine, but it's telling you it can't find the PLC, so go check that.

The 1747-AIC isolator module that the PanelView is connected to should have a solid red power LED indicator illuminated.

The IMC-S motion controller should have illuminated Logic and Field power indicators (upper right side of the enclosure front panel).

Both of them appear to be off, as is the Siemens DC power supply to the right side of the picture.

Use basic electrical troubleshooting methods like a voltmeter to figure out which disconnect, fuse, or power supply is responsible for the absence of control power for those devices. This is almost certainly not a software issue, but rather something that was disconnected, tripped, or switched off during the shutdown.

Hello,
To begin my answer, I would like to thank you for your help, I did not expect such a quick answer, Thank you very much. 🤞🏻

I give you a new photo of the installation, this one under tension.

the old one is out of tension.

I still ordered a connection box via pc the SLC 1747.UIC just for advance.

For the cables, I have between the PanelView 550 --> AB 1747-c10 ser B --> SLC 500.

And between the SLC 500 dh-485 link coupler ---> 1747- c11- A ---> IMC

Hello,

While waiting for the connection box to arrive, I took the liberty of going to see the program.

I came across this window which gives me this information.
I don't know if this helps but I share anyway you never know.

How about a shot of the SLC500 you are talking about?

Any lights on there? you mentioned you were doing a "big cleaning" which I can only assume would mean the machine would be shut down while you cleaned things up longer than normal.

Is the program still in the processor and in RUN mode?

EDIT:

I do see the IMC Node address appears to be on Node 0, typically from my experience (take it with a grain of salt) that's left open for a PC connection, not sure if this got turned by somebody with a curious hand and a tiny screwdriver (I've found in the past when somebody sees a selector like this and gives it a spin thinking it doesn't do anything and shuts down a whole operation on the next startup)

Yes I did a clean off in dry ice and hand finish. But the machine hadn't been powered up from the start that we got it.

I can only say that we have received it since the beginning of 2022.

And I just powered it up in October for the first time.

Each box seems to be powered on when I get my 612 message.

I tried to change the SLC 500 link coupler box to see if there is a difference.
The former owner left it for me in the crates.
But no change.

I took the panelview 550 apart, the whole board looks fine.

I also reinstalled the panel program with the memory card but still nothing

I show you where the SLC 500 is located with the red led.

the pictured device is a 1747-AIC, used for communication with the dh485 network. according to your panelview program, there should be a SLC5/03 rack somewhere in the cabinet.

Thank you for your help :)

I just looked at the plans in the manual.

I have no item named SLC5/03 or similar.

I think nothing is missing.

I share the schematics with you if it can help

then it looks like they are doing direct control of the drive itself through dh485 and the Panelview...

looks like it says it uses standard SLC addressing to accomplish this. so without knowing much about the IMC S, I'd say your best bet is to figure out how to get online with it and make sure it's still programmed correctly.

edit: I'm sure the older guys knew this already, but it appears it uses GML Commander software to program, and that software requires a serial number to download and access.

So the IMC S is essentially emulating a SLC from the Panelview's point of view…

First things first, verify that the IMC S is correctly set for Node 1 since that's where the Panelview is looking for it. I can't see the address switch well enough in the pictures to tell.

If it is, then checking the programming of the IMC S is the next step.

I'd second this, It looked like to me earlier that the IMC S had the Dot on the dial set to 0, but it could just be off by 1 (Ultra 3000 were always annoying to tell where the actual position was, I couldn't understand why they made it so difficult to tell).

hopefully that's as simple as it gets, otherwise with no PLC and existing program or way to program the IMC, it may get hairy!

The small roulette address of the IMC is positioned on 0 at this time.

To know if there is the problem in IMC I think we will have to wait for the box I ordered SLC 1747-UIC.

I expect to have it in a week or two.

By searching on the panel I was able to access the menu of the panelview 550.

And I came across this parameter if it can help the search
