Hello, I'm using a 1734-IE2V for a load cell.

We want to measure between -5Kn to +5Kn.

See attached photo.

I'm assuming using Voltage Range of -10V to 10V would be best.

For High Engineering Unit should i use 10,000 or 5,000 and for Low Engineering Unit should i use -10,000 or -5,000?

Do i need anything for digital filter?

Thank you for your support

Most load cells don't output directly in a format your analog card will read.
You'll need a transducer, set the analog card to match whatever the output format of the transducer is.

Thanks for providing the info on the transducer.

I would probably want to set it up so that my integer Engineering Units were most similar to the actual Newtons, so a span of -5000 to +5000 would make the most sense.

That gives you less resolution than the module is capable of, but it's simpler to understand.

The critical part will be using your Span adjustments to make -10V and +10V actually reflect -5000 and +5000 Newtons.

Bear in mind that the ie2v has these specs:
±0.1% fs accuracy.
5ppm/°C
-20to55°C operating.

So at 25°C, your ie2v will contribute:
10kN*0.1%= ±10N of uncertainty
Across the range you will have
10kN*75°C*5ppm/°C = ±3.75N
So worst case the ie2v is contributing ±13.75N of uncertainty.
Add the accuracy of your load cell and of your amplifier.
From two different manuals for the amplifier I got that it has a linearity of 0.02% and a zero drift of 0.1%/6mo.
So if you calibrate every 6 months, add another ±12N of uncertainty.
Not sure about your load cells.
