Slc504 To Dh485 Panelview

I have an existing DH+ network and I would like to add a DH485 panelview (2711-K5A2)to an SLC-504. I know that channel 0 needs to be configured for DH485, but I'm confused as to what cables or adapters I need to connect the panelview to the slc. The panelview will only be communicating to this slc. I did do a search on this forum and the ab website, but I'm still uncertain as to what hardware is required. Thanks in advance for any help.

The panelview and the slc will be in the same cabinet.

Then connect a 1747-PIC to the serial port (Channel 0) of the 5/04. Then a patch cable (such as a 1747-C10) from the PIC to a 1747-AIC module. Then another similar patch cable to the DH485 connector on the PanelView terminal.

So the hardware you will need will be:

(1) 1747-PIC
(1) 1747-AIC
(2) patch cables (1747-C10 or similar)

That should do the trick. I just set that up with some spare equipment and they are able to see each other just fine.

And of course as you mentioned, Channel 0 needs to be configured for DH485.

edit: one last thing, the AIC has to be powered (24V dc).

I would check into the 1761-NET-AIC (AIC+). It is an RS-232(DH-485) to DH-485 converter.

In a simple 2 node application like this, I don't think a second AIC+ is necessary for the Panelview.

I'll do some digging and find the part numbers for the cables...
