We have a GE Fanuc 90-30 that will lose it's program after weekend shut down. This has happened a few times and we changed the battery last week, did not have a low battery light, and it still happened again today. We noticed today the controller time was reset to 1-1-2000, we corrected it to the current time.

We are getting 2 faults every time we restart this controller.

0.10 Module Hardware Fault
Error Code 479
Error Code 486

We clear them, restart the controller, and they come right back.

I'm assuming this is a 374. What you are describing is quite common with those CPUs, they eat battery like crazy and won't last a weekend on the tiny stock battery. Way back when I worked in a facility that used those CPUs we had the local batteries plus place make us high-capacity ones.

Look for IC693ACC302, talk to your GE supplier they know this issue very well.

The battery on the 90-30 is located on the power supply module as is the "BAT" LED. Given that and the fact that you're losing RAM memory I suspect a bad connection between the base plate and either the power supply module or the CPU module. Try reseating the affected modules. After that, replace the base plate, power supply module and CPU module in that order. That order being from lowest to highest cost assuming that you have a modular CPU and not the model with the CPU embedded in the base plate.
The fault is related to whatever module is located in slot 10 of the base plate that also has the CPU (rack 0). That module may need to be replaced, but take care of the memory loss issue first. That's because when you lose RAM memory you also lose your hardware configuration memory. If you're lucky, when you resolve the memory issue you might find that the fault in rack 0, slot 10 goes away. On the other had it's possible that the problem with the module in rack 0, slot 10 is contributing to the memory loss.
You posted the CPU model number while I was typing. Be aware that the CPU350 has flash memory. As a workaround you could consider saving the program and hardware configuration to flash memory and configuring it to load program and configuration from flash memory to RAM on power-up.
