Micrologix 1400 to PVC600 Communication by RS485 port problem

Hi..

I am using Micrologix 1400 PLC & C600 HMI. I want to do the communication between them by DH-485 via RS485 port.( As distance between them is 40 meters apart )
I already set the Channel 0 of micrologix 1400 to DH-485 and also I have 1763-nc01 cable. but I don't know about c600 RS485-port connection & setting for the same.
So kindly help me out for this problem..

Hi,

You are using a 1763-NC01, so you are connecting to channel 0 on the ML1400, which is an isolated port. If you are only connecting the PV-C600 to this isolated port, then you can connect your cable point-to-point between the PV-C600's non-isolated RS-485 port and the isolated RS-485 port on the ML1400, via the 1763-NC01.

The recommended cable for this connection is Belden 3106A or #9842 or equivalent.

The RS-485 port on the PV-C600 has a built in 121Ω terminating resistor between the R and R- terminals.

The link between the TERM and A terminals on the 1763-NC01 terminates the built in 120Ω resistor for the MicroLogix end.

If you have Connected Components Workbench software (CCW) installed, open PVc DesignStation to create an application for the PV-C600. Configure the communications settings, PLC tags, display screens, etc. for the terminal in PanelView Explorer, which is the design editor within PVc DesignStation.

See the attached screenshots of the driver configuration, and tag setup screens in PanelView Explorer.
