Hello All,

Advice sought. I'm currently looking at a project that requires a Siemens S7-1500 PLC to interract with an, as yet unspecified, MES system. The proposed protocol is OPC-UA making use of "Methods". I can see that Siemens have produced a tech note and demo for the creation and publication of methods in the PLC and have downloaded that to have a play with. Has anyone invoked an OPC-UA method on a remote server from the PLC?

https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109756885/opc-ua-methods-for-the-simatic-s7-1500-opc-ua-server-?dti=0&lc=en-AU

The project is also likely to involve a database connection. Does anyone have any wise words to offer on the Tabular Data service?

Thanks in advance,

Nick
