reliable cost competitive vfds

For my customers, I mainly recommend ABB, Danfoss, and Yaskawa, but I rarely work with drives that small. Cow is right about the $$..... Small fish. I have opinions about some of the other brands I see when I'm out troubleshooting or starting up... but I don't want to share those thoughts publicly. Every brand has it's strengths and weaknesses.

We are a dealer for Fuji Electric. Very good drives. Several levels available, from economy to very robust. At least in our area, can easily beat the price of Altivars. Consider the FRN0002C2S-2U. 1/4hp 200-240v 3ph. Call for more details. 570-668-4540.

+1 for Fuji.
You'll get the same (if not more) features than the Schneider for the same or lower cost.

I've used a lot of different brands, and the Schneider and Fuji were very similar in terms of how we set them up, made adjustments, etc. It would be an easy transition

schneider is getting a little too snobish.

we buy over 300 vfd's a year. and only 300 because we can only make one machine a week.

moving to a bigger facility where we plan to double or triple that.

how are vfd sales people not knocking down are door for this quantity.

I know what it really is!
They haven't brought you donuts or lunch lately

Who is your Schneider rep? Altivars have always been one of the best bang for the buck, for us at least.

oh, no doubt. they have been reliable has heck.

programming software and manuals are very bad.

they can't meet demand.

And they have been failing out of the box recently w/ internal fault. and support is horrific.

Eaton DG1, Toshiba AS3

AFAIK Schneider doesn't have territory-exclusive reps, so shop around. I have at least 3 Schneider guys in my area.

good advice. i'll check. our prices are good, but i think the supply problem is production based.

schneider tech support dude: it not possible to run a postive displacement pump on a 212.
me: well, we have 100+ that have been doing this for over 6 years w/ no problems.
tech guy: whatever, go and buy yourself a lottery ticket.

I'm sure I will get crapped on for suggesting AutomationDirect, but they have several drives that would fit the bill. I've had good success with AD drives having only had 1 drive die (60hp drive) and I believe we have killed 1 by being idiots (someone may have put 230 3ph into a 115v input drive).

we used Danfoss for most of our stuff, some clients wanted ABB so we used them and liked them. We recently got a quote on a range we use and they were about half the price of Danfoss.

Don't know if we're allowed to do that on this site. I'll try.

Still trying to get a price for 1/4 HP, .2kW.
Price for 1/2 HP, .4kW is $169.75.
LiteON. EVO600023S0D4E20

I'm not sure that's a good deal? 51k for 300 1/2HP drives?

We're less than 40k with 1/2HP ABB's.

they probably sell some ok stuff, but they kind of considered the Harbor Freight of automation in my group of customers.
