Hello All,

Please our powerflex 755 20G1AJD545AN0NNNNN runs for about 2 weeks then trips on F5037.
I have checked the CAT6 cable that its not close to power cables.
This drive is connected to a stratix switch 8000 with 4 other powerflex drives and 2 E300 relays.
I understand these are multicast devices, so i must enable IGMP snooping in stratix switch. What i want to understand is must i enable the IGMP in the switch the 20G1AJD545AN0NNNNN drive is connected to alone or i must enable the IGMP on all the stratix switches on the network.
There are Ten stratix switches on the network.

Please your contribution will be appreciated.

10 switches on one subnet is a bit excessive.

Are there any HMIs and/or Data Servers also patched within?

VFDs and Smart Relays comms adapters are not Multicast devices since Rev.18 unless "Use Unicast on EtherNet/IP" in the Module's definition is not checked at configuration time.

You will have to turn the IGMP feature ON on all switches on the PF755 subnet though, especially if there are HMIs and/or Data Servers using the same bandwidth; they are managed switches after all and IGMP Snooping should've been implemented at install time.

Hello Dmargineau,

I have also noticed this in the RPI interval setup.

There are 6 SMFLEX sitting on 100ms
There are 2 powerflex 755 75kw sitting on 20ms
There is 1 powerflex 755 130kw sitting on 100ms
There is 1 powerflex 755 600kw sitting on 100ms(tripping on network fault every 2 weeks)
There are 7 1794 AENT sitting on 20ms.
There are 20 E300 relays sitting on 100ms.

Can this also be a factor, as i can see that most of the items is using RPI of 100ms.

It depends; you RPI a module depending of the application needs and available bandwidth.

However, 100ms for a PF755 is a bit too slow; try reducing it to at least 50ms if not 20ms like the other PF755s.
