DDE between two computers

Dear All,

I have a an application that takes DDE data from an iFix database.
Any idea how to do this? Client and data side both are Win7.

Do i need NetDDE?

I have tested reading DDE data from iFIX database to DDE client running on the same machine.

NetDDE is no longer allowed by Microsoft to function, due to security concerns. You can still use NetDDE on Windows XP.

So can i say there is on way to use DDE between two computers that runs Windows?

I know nothing about iFix, but can you use an ODBC connection? It may require adding a read-only account to the database.
